Birth Doula

In Greek, the word “doula” means “a woman who serves”. A doula is a non-medical professional trained in childbirth techniques. She provides emotional, physical and informational support to the mother who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth.

As a birth doula, I accompany women in labour to promote a satisfying birth experience.   With my knowledge and experience of over 80 births, I seek to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to women and their partners.

My role as your doula is to follow your lead,  be aware of your needs and help you birth the way you desire. Movement, massage, touch, visualization, breathing, encouragement, heat and cooling, and music are many of the techniques that can be implemented to  relax the mother during her labour.
